About the team:

 

The Business Development team at VIZIO is looking for a Senior Content Manager to join our expanding team. Reporting to the Director, Content Management, this role will oversee the partnerships and manage ingestion and onboarding of new and existing content for VIZIO’s portfolio of FAST/linear and video-on-demand channels. This role will work closely with the Content Acquisition branch of the Business Development team.

 

This is a highly dynamic role within a growing and impactful Business Development team at VIZIO. This role’s core focus is to project manage new channel launches and existing channel partnerships by ensuring readiness across the entire suite of assets to meet target deadlines (content delivery/ingestion, transcoding, ad breaks, QC/QA, EPG, artwork, metadata, etc.). You will be involved throughout the entire life cycle from product ideation to delivery pipeline. You will be the key point of contact for external vendors (PSPs), platform and distribution partners. This position requires excellent communication skills to ensure that both internal and external stakeholders are informed and motivated to meet deadlines and key performance objectives for the continued success of VIZIO’s AVOD/FAST channel and content offerings. This role requires strong organizational skills, outstanding time management, and the ability to regularly balance multiple priorities in a fast paced, team-oriented environment. An understanding of technical operational processes is needed for this role and an appreciation of the entertainment industry is desirable. The ideal candidate will be truly collaborative, always up for a new challenge, and extremely organized in this highly cross-functional role within VIZIO.

 

This is a full-time position based in Irvine, CA.

 

What you will do:

  • Manage partnerships and oversee channel launches and ensure all departments (Marketing, Editorial, Product, Programming, and Content Acquisitions) have communicated their needs and challenges.
  • Maintain existing channels and make updates, as requested, from PSPs and content/distribution partners and coordinate with VIZIO’s editorial team.
  • Provide timely updates to various internal and external teams regarding scheduling, delivery, quality control, and publication.
  • Collaborate with the Product team on content experience and new features including the development of the VOD/AVOD initiative. Tasks include the creation of content categories, collections, channels and new product features to support enhanced content discovery. This includes updates, maintenance and enhancements for all content operations tools including the CMS.
  • Coordinate with Ad Operations to ensure ad-tag protocols are successful during testing and execution.
  • Ensure metadata integrity by auditing and evaluating quality standards.
  • QA tasks: assist with various assigned projects aimed at improving the user's content viewing experience, such as replacing bad ad breaks, fixing descriptions or correcting bad artwork crops.
  • Ad hoc requests. Pivot to new priorities and adapt to new contexts.

 

About you:

  • You have earned a Bachelor’s degree.
  • You have 5+ years of relevant OTT/digital media experience as it pertains to asset management and content delivery (including an understanding of digital media content supply chains and partner management).
  • You have direct experience with content distributors and content delivery networks (CDNs) – Amagi, Wurl, Xumo, is mandatory.
  • You have direct experience in programming and scheduling (CMS systems), especially for VOD/FAST/AVOD.
  • You possess working technical knowledge of digital video specifications and best practices.
  • You have demonstrated project management experience. The ability to coordinate and track high volume of work through an end-to-end workflow.
  • You are comfortable with change and working on content management for a growing platform as it develops.
  • You are a self-starter with the ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and work effectively against multiple competing deadlines.
  • You have the proven ability to work effectively with cross functional teams (Product, Engineering, Editorial, Content Acquisitions) with an emphasis on strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • You are self-motivated, extremely well organized with an exceptional attention to detail, genuine curiosity, and a can-do positive attitude to contribute to the success of the team.
  • You have advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience with data analysis tools a plus.
  • You have passion for content, especially with movies and tv shows!
  • You are familiar with paid media campaigns and digital ad-sales.
