About the team:

VIZIO’s Platform+ Marketing team is seeking a Director, Ad Sales-West to join the growing ad sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive territory strategy for the company’s Platform+ advertising business. Based in Los Angeles, this market leader will work closely with the VP, Ad Sales and the ad sales leadership team to build go to market strategies in a fast paced, developing market. This role will require taking a thought leadership approach in the world of streaming video and advanced television, while aiding in the development of new products to fulfill market requirements.

 

What you will do:

  • Partner with Business Development, Product Marketing and Client Services to effectively tell the stories of our products.
  • Evangelize the key benefits and differentiators of Inscape and VIZIO Ads products that align to the product roadmap.
  • Identify and understand changing customer needs and new opportunities within new and existing market segments to ensure a strong competitive position for VIZIO Ads.
  • Participation in various trade and industry events, including conferences and sponsored activities.
  • Analyze advertiser needs, and advise on data led solutions
  • Constructe a quarterly sales strategy to meet quotas and quarterly sales objectives. Forecast and develop annual sales quotas for region and territory; projecting expected sales volume for existing and new business.
  • Conduct in-person meetings and conference calls with client/agency decision makers and buyers.
  • Attend conferences and industry events as appropriate.
  • Develop a hiring plan for incremental headcount, and manage a team of Ad Sales Account Executives and Senior Account Executives.

About you:

  • You have 8+ years in ad sales leadership, with demonstrated success with large national brand advertisers.
  • You have proven experience managing and developing sales talent and organizations in the digital arena.
  • You have a thorough understanding of online media business including competitive platforms, ad products, general pricing strategy, programmatic ecosystem, etc.
  • You are self-motivated, and succeed at working independently, as well as on a growing team of sales professionals.
  • You have demonstrated success working in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.
  • You have strong client and agency relationships across the LA, SF, and SEA markets.
  • You are a hard-working team player, with a “no task is too small” attitude.
  • You are a creative problem-solver who digs into root causes analytically, instead of relying on intuition.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to tell complex stories simply and adapt to questions, rather than just presenting information
  • You have expertise with PowerPoint, Word, and visual design tools (i.e. Photoshop).
  • You appreciate the challenge of translating highly technical product offerings and concepts for a wide variety of audiences, elucidating the “why”, not just the “what”.
