About the team:

VIZIO’s Engagement and Programming team is seeking an Audience Research Analyst. In this newly created role, the successful candidate will develop an analytics program on viewership and content trends. This is a key role on a fast growing team. The Audience Research Analyst will be focused on data analytics for VIZIO’s WatchFree (FAST) free ad supported Linear TV service, and seek opportunities to increase users and engagement on key channel partners through detailed analyses and robust insights. The ideal candidate follows entertainment trends as it relates to television, movies and streaming services.


What you will do:

  • Produce comprehensive and insightful reports based on first party viewing and engagement data
  • Support strategic research using primary, secondary and syndicated data source (maintain databases/data systems)
  • Provide audience profiles and sizing estimates for assessments and creative planning
  • Translate complex data sets into clear and compelling written narrative
  • Interpret viewership data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret viewership trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
  • Build complex data models that will be used to build out partner forecasts and other key performance indicators
  • Identify market trends, research reports, competitive insights and frequent business analyses to support business reviews and other partner focused special projects
  • Develop case studies to demonstrate how product features drive incremental value for platforms and end users
  • Monitor key platform/channel trends and health metrics and support with business analysis
  • Partner with internal teams to build and maintain dashboards and reporting relevant to partner KPIs
  • Tell stories with data, so the correlation of the hypothesis supported by insights.
  • You are able to normalize, stitch, and consolidate datasets from various sources and create unified analyses.


About you:

  • You have demonstrated experience in the entertainment, media industries or related field.
  • You have a deep understanding of the ad supported video streaming business model and the content ecosystem.
  • You have demonstrated experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst (CTV, OTT and Linear TV experience is preferred.
  • You have technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
  • You have knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Advanced Excel, Tableau, SQL, R, SPSS/STATA, SAS).
  • You have demonstrated experience demonstrating analytical concepts to craft an actionable story for technical and non-technical audiences.  
  • You possess a strong understanding of testing frameworks (A/B, multivariate, etc.).
  • You possess strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • You have excellent presentation skills and expertise in delivering research insights and research methodologies.
  • You are adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
  • You have earned a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics.
