About the team:

This position oversees Program Management for the Firmware Software development across multiple platforms and product categories such as TV, and Sound bar products. It involves working with Product Management, Firmware development, Vendors, and Quality Assurance teams to produce and deliver quality software for consumer electronics. This position requires someone who can provide Program Management for technical software teams. This candidate should have a background working with technical software teams and have knowledge of project management software and tools like Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Project (or other project planning software), JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, etc. As we work with globally based teams, we expect candidates to have excellent communication skills and experience working with globally distributed development teams. As a critical technology area, this role provides excellent career growth opportunities.

  • Clear understanding on Schedule Deadlines and knowing when to escalate on critical issues.
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Project (or other project planning tools), PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Program management, effective communication skills, effectively managing projects and working with global cross-functional teams
  • Ability to relentlessly track and follow-up on open issues and action items
  • Ability to lead and work collaboratively in a highly dynamic environment
  • Self-starter with the ability to work through ambiguity and evolving requirements
  • Working with multiple program tasks, setting the right priorities and understanding program needs
  • Fluent with using issue-tracking software applications, such as Jira
  • PMP certification is highly desirable

What You Will Do:

  • Manage Firmware programs across multiple teams, including Product Management, Firmware development, Vendors, and Quality assurance teams
  • Plan, schedule and coordinate software development
  • Generate detailed program project plans aligning teams to meet corporate business goals.
  • Manage risks and issues, drive corrective action plans, coordinate release schedules across multiple teams
  • Prioritize JIRA issues across teams, internal and external
  • Coordinate issue resolution with Product / Engineering / Quality Assurance / Vendor teams, driving resolutions in a timely manner
  • Coordinate Firmware releases across Product / Engineering / Quality Assurance / Vendor teams, delivering quality software releases to our Customers
  • Support Product Management team to prepare software release notes to Customer Support team.
  • Present program project plans to Leadership
  • Present program project status to teams, including Leadership
  • Interact with Product Marketing and Product Management to define program plans and meet NPI schedules and goals
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (incl. Business Dev, Business Planning, Prod Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, Quality) throughout the planning and execution phase
  • Ensure that lessons-learned from previous programs are incorporated into new programs
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation plans as required to meet quality, schedule and cost targets
  • Set high standards for personal and team interaction. Facilitate the resolution of complex team issues, build consensus, maintain process focus, overcome barriers, encourage and inspire other team members and foster relationships with other team leaders
